I have written about the LFE’s Erasmus+ Player Placement programme before which gives young English footballers who have been released by professional clubs the chance to play in Sweden and earn a long-term contract.
Well recently 17 more players have been given the chance to impress in Sweden. I have tweeted about a few of them already but the LFE have released a full list of players today.
Some of the players are joining sides which are already home to a few English players. Here’s a rundown of who’s gone where.
Bodens BK Currently sixth in Division 2 Norrland (fourth tier) already home to Zak Guerfi

- Adam North, goalkeeper (formerly Northampton Town)
- Jack Lee, defender who has played in the FA Youth Cup for formally Dagenham & Redbridge
Eskilstuna City Currently 13th in Division 2 Södra Svealand (fourth tier)

- Jack Chandler a versatile player who spent time on loan at Gosport Borough from Portsmouth
- Tom Reilly a midfielder who made the bench twice for Accrington Stanley last year in the Checkatrade Trophy
GIF Sundsvall U21s First team are in the top division and they have currently have Lloyd Saxton on their books.

- Sam Naylor a goalkeeper who has had spells at Coventry City, York City and Leeds United.
Gottne IF Currently seventh in Division 2 Norrland (fourth tier), English forward Danny Harmon already has four goals for them this season.
- Declan Slater a midfielder who has played for Grimsby Town and Doncaster Rovers
- Joe Cairns made the bench for Walsall last season in the Checkatrade Trophy
IFK Holmsund (fifth tier club)
- Ben Chilcott a defender who has spent time on loan at Stafford Rangers from Oxford United
- Jake Thomas a defender who has spent the last two years at Port Vale
- Zak Hill a defender who has also played for Port Vale and has played in the FA Youth Cup
IFK Östersund Currently ninth in Division 2 Norrland (fourth tier), have Scotsman Lewis Baker in their squad already and is the former team of Östersund FK (first division) goalkeeper Andrew Mills

- Josh Mortimore a midfielder formerly of Bristol City
- Leandro Ribeiro a right back who played for QPR
- Oliver Harrison a midfielder who has played in the Cheshire Senior Cup for Crewe Alexandra
- Romeo Akinola a midfielder who has played in the FA Youth Cup for QPR
Ytterhogdals IK Currently third in Division 2 Norrland (fourth tier), already have a huge contingent of English players including English staff. You can read more about them here.

- Alex McMillan a defender who has appeared on the bench for Grimsby Town in the Checkatrade Trophy
- Bailey Whalley a striker who has played for Oldham Athletic
- Matt Keogh a defender who recently left Leeds United
